The Opportunity
The Investment Analyst will be responsible for and supports all aspects of performance measurement, analytics, attribution and reporting - including support for account, product and benchmark data.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics or any related course.
  • A strong background in investment performance & analytics, including attribution, security and portfolio characteristics, competitor/peer analysis, a broad knowledge of financial markets and complex investment strategies. Undergraduate degree in business, economics, or a quantitative discipline, or equivalent strong experience in the industry. MBA helpful.
  • Designations and or the pursuit of, such as CFA, CAIA, FRM, or CIPM are strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) helpful.
  • Relevant experience with data analytics, securities, asset management or performance measurement group, with a solid knowledge of financial instruments and strategies.
  • Experience with or interest in learning analytics software (e.g., Power BI, Sylvan) and Graphic Design/Visualizations is preferred.
  • Knowledge of relational databases and statistical programming languages (e.g., VBA, SQL) helpful.
  • Strong communication skills - both oral and written.
  • Strong computer skills and advanced level spreadsheet skills.
  • Possess a desire for continuous learning.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to work in a fast-paced daily production environment.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Provides more complex analysis and reporting (fund assessment and evaluation, IBP, etc.).
  • Help develop solutions and manage process improvement internally, with IT, and vendors to meet demanding deliverables schedule.
  • Support day to day performance operations.

On the job you will:

  • Responsible for maintaining and servicing key data systems by providing review of performance data overall including systems and processes.
  • Develop in depth knowledge of end-to-end data processing including entity relationships and data flows.
  • Support management in the monitoring of global performance data systems.
  • Maintain integrity of data in internal performance systems and at external vendors.
  • Perform analysis of fund returns against respective peer groups and benchmarks.
  • Produce statistical data needed for ensuring validity and accuracy of all performance data.
  • Track, document, report, and maintain metrics and control reporting to enhance departmental management and data integrity.
  • Develop, maintain, and document procedures.
  • Utilize Business Intelligence tools to analyze and improve tightly controlled data environments.
  • Support Equity Analytics and responsible for working with team to improve data quality.
  • Respond to ad hoc requests and create value added analysis for investment distribution teams.
  • Requires strong knowledge and understand of performance calculations and attribution.
  • Partner with operations groups to monitor controls and support valuation process.
  • Provide technical expertise regarding performance measurement and attribution.
  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of client reporting.
  • Manage tools required in reporting process such as Excel and Access.
  • Strong customer service focus and orientation.
  • Must be detail oriented and be able to work in a fast-paced daily production environment.
  • Support the information needs of sales, marketing, compliance and other users of performance includes defining, developing and producing performance and analytical reporting that supports needs.
  • Must have strong communication skills; both written and oral.
  • Assist in and provide support in new product development effort.
  • Act as backup for other team members.
  • Participate and/or lead projects as assigned.
