Job Description

Department of International Languages
ASL/English Interpreting Program
Fulfills the Experiential Learning requirement for AM classes


Scheduling will be handled by the IPP faculty member


Appointments should be 1 hour in duration for every 5 hours of observation/internship time. Time may be extended by the mentor/facilitator with approval of the faculty member.


Each IPP Mentor/Facilitator will have pre-arranged appointments.


IPP students are responsible for documentation of their observation/internship and meeting times. Faculty will need to be able to verify the appointments in the determination of grades for students at the end of each semester.


Department of World Languages AA, will develop a contract for the Mentor/Facilitators.


Supervision of the workload of the Mentor/Facilitators will be handled by the IPP Faculty member. Issues regarding specific language issues and questions should be directed to the Lead Faculty in each ASL/English Interpreting Program.


Registered interpreter with state of Nevada
RID certification and/or EIPA 4.0 and above
Some interactive experience working with IPP students in a mentorship capacity


No degree - $10.50
AA – $11.00
BA – $12.00
MA – $14.00
PhD- $16.00
($1.00 per hour added for EIPA or RID certification)
